The Hiwassee series is for the angler looking for something special - a fly rod that is not only appropriate to his/her more advanced technical skills, but also seeks to satisfy some inner need for esthetics:  Rare wood spacers, unusual guide wraps, engraved reel seats and rod tubes.  The choice of “top of the line” blanks.  Custom rods in this series incorporate the “cutting edge” in rod building technology.  Drawing from the best U.S. and international suppliers, CHERRYLOG RODS creates a custom fly rod that fits your needs, both technically and esthetically.

DETAILS

Premium blank manufacturers include Sage, Winston, Thomas & Thomas,  St. Croix,, Pacific Bay.

Cork handles are hand-turned using flor grade Portuguese cork, and may use custom colored burl cork and wood inlays featuring my “hammer handle”  to keep proper rod orientation .

Reel seats are nickel silver and selected from REC, Pacific Bay and Struble.

Rare woods include Cocobolo, Amboyna and Burled Rosewood, and specially hand-turned Cherry burl.

Choose engraving on reel seats, butt caps and rod tubes.  Thread wraps to match rod blank color. Includes rod sock.
